Seuls au monde

I don't know if this is the best one but it is one i like a lot.
I think it tells us about our lives : always walk further, walk into the light...
It also says how lonely we are. Ever.

Hi everyone
All my apologizes for not having faved lately : i was away and couldn't check DA... So now i have a whole lot of deviations to watch and choose ... Give me a little time to catch up

I introduce myself with a photograph my son has made of me while we were in the desert ...

What you see in the background is a glimpse of Mauritania

I wonder why
the pronoun he
is only a part of she

I wonder why
he is so small
Why must he be like she?

Why must she be so sure
embodying he
and his whole world

Now, why can't he
be as whole as she

The culture of the day
dictates grammar's way

He made she function like he
and she seemed to agree
still having her own way
in many ways

And I wonder if any modern man
likes to be so embodied
in she – or should I write “her”
she having the missing part of he

The Italians have a lei and lui,
The French have an elle and lui,
the English, a pregnant she …
A possessive and rapacious she?
The Greek she, afti
is Greek for ear, you see
Sh! Listen!
The muse dares sway
Swaying along the shore of he
like the sea and the shoreline

such hidden intention
she hiding behind he
saying one word for all
one word of mind and heart

The voice of a new thought
a new culture
endlessly to be sought

This poems was a response to another one :
"The third person singular" by Lina Di Ciocco which was published a while ago in HLT magazine (a magazine for language teachers). So it is mine but would never habe been written without hers.

I wanted to share it with you all
Cecilia
